Cờ Tướng — Xiangqi Online ("the app," "we," "our," or "us") is a Chinese chess game. You can play against the computer on your own device, or play online against other people. This policy explains what leaves your device when you do, and what does not.
The first time you open the app it generates a random identifier and a random display name for you, and stores them on your device. That identifier is what our server knows you by. It is not derived from your device, your phone number or any account you hold elsewhere, and it cannot be traced back to you by us or by anyone else. You may change your display name and pick an avatar from a fixed set of emoji at any time in Settings.
Your chosen language, board and piece themes, bot difficulty, and which daily puzzles you have solved are written to local storage only. We never receive them. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Playing against the computer offline does not create or update any of this.
Online features talk to our own server at game.dngsoft.com over HTTPS and an encrypted WebSocket. What travels over that connection is your identifier, your display name, matchmaking requests, the moves you play, and any chat messages you send during a game. Nothing else on your device is read or transmitted.
Messages you send during a game are delivered to your opponent and are not stored after the game ends. When your opponent is a computer player, the text of the conversation is sent to OpenRouter, a third-party language-model service, so that it can write a reply. Only the message text is sent — not your identifier, your name, or anything else about you. If you would rather no message text left our server at all, do not use the chat box.
If you choose to rate the app, the rating prompt is provided by Google Play or the Apple App Store and your review goes to them, never to us. We are told nothing about what you wrote or whether you wrote anything.
The app is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Note that online play includes a chat box with a real opponent; the chat is free text and is not moderated, so a parent may prefer that a young child plays only against the computer.
Your profile and game history are kept for as long as the app is published, because ratings and progress would otherwise be meaningless. Chat messages are not retained after a game ends. You can have everything deleted at any time by asking us.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and a material change will be announced in the app's release notes.
